Vince Sez:

Bill was kind enough to pick me up at the hotel at the appointed time. He and I had a very nice chat in the car. He told me that DC is 8 square miles surrounded by reality, and I believe him.

DC is a very busy place. In spite of the fact that Bill lives in the area and has been to the restuarant before, he made a wrong turn and we ended up going into the U of Maryland. Thought he was taking me to school.

What a place the the 94th restuarant is. It was very enjoyable. Bill was also kind enough to relate how we came into possession of the flag. Walker, with Babysan, Lew, myself, and who knows who else in law enforcement, you are in the need of help from someone in the group. I believe there are some who are lawyers. Remember, you don't have to say anything without representation. Oh, and you cannot plead diminished capacity, because alcohol is self induced. :-))))

Since you have all seen the pictures already, you have probably noted that John Powell was not among us, and he had some excuse about working. I worked that day also, but I was there. <OK, John, you're off this time. You don't have to feel bad, just because I travelled over 9,000 miles, just for this mini, and you missed it. Sorry, you couldn't make it John.

Along with renewing my acquaintance with Bob, (Who, by the way, was my commanding officer in flight school, as well as in Charlie troop), I met Bill, whom I have heard about plenty, abd Mark Hilton, who I also have heard of plenty. I also had the distinct priveledge to meet Lew (Cavalier Cahill) and his most gracious wife Jodi. What a pleasure. They are both a great addition to the Charlie Troop "Ohana". (Ohana is Hawaiian for Family, and Charlie troop is truly a family)!!!!!

If you have not heard Lew's story, you all have to meet with him and listen.

All in all, that evening was truly a great evening. Good food, Good restaurant, (Too Cold for my blood) and most of all GOOD COMPANY!!! Thanks to all for the welcome conversation, and food. Just one request, fix the weather so it is a little warmer next time.

By the way, there was a decision by that group that night, that the next Mini was in Hawaii. Anyone up to it?? I could certainly show my area off, but I don't think there is a 94th affiliate here.

I apologize that I have no scanner, so it is going to be difficult for me to post the photos I took. Thanks to Lew, we have some on the net. I only wish that this mini could have had more of you attend, and I would truly love to make it to the Vegas one, but I am not going to be able to. Soooooo, you all take care, stay sober(????), but most of all enjoy.

While I am at this, let me also report that Nate Shaffer and I were able to get together in Columbus, Ohio two weeks ago also. That was also very enjoyable. We had a very nice visit, ate a good meal, and looked at some incredible photos that Nate has. Maybe with enough pushing, we could get Nate top post the photo album he has. It sure brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for driving all that way to meet with me Nate.

LEW SEZ:

JODI AND I HAD A GREAT TIME THE OTHER EVENING. WE ENJOYED MEETING VINCE AND SHARING A FEW HOURS WITH HIM. IT WAS ALSO A PLEASURE TO SEE BILL, BOB AND MARK AGAIN.

I WAS ALSO VERY HAPPY TO REPORT TO YOU GUYS THAT I HAVE FINALLY MADE CONTACT WITH MY FATHERS FAMILY AND THINGS LOOK TO BE GOING BETTER THAN I HAD EXPECTED.

WE DIDN'T TAKE MANY PICTURES THIS TIME. I GUESS WE WERE TOO BUSY TALKING AND DEVOURING OUR DELICIOUS MEALS. WE WILL JUST HAVE TO DO A BETTER JOB OF CAPTURING THOSE KODAK MOMENTS NEXT TIME.
