I was in HHT ands we were co-located with C Trp in Camp Gorvad. I flew (now and then) with LT Bob LeMaster of Trp C. When I was "The Real S-1", I made sure my friend Ross Rainwater was assigned to Trp C so he would be close by.

I was surfing the WWW and decided to look and see if there was anything on the WWW about my dad. I came across this website and saw my dads story here. Black Stetsons,Golden Sabers by Lionel DeLaRosa . When I was small I remember my dad being in Vietnam. I watched the news with my mother alot . I never really understood the war when I was young, now that I am older I realise that my father is a great man and that I am very proud of him.

You have a wonderful web-site and I appreciate you offering this space availability to all who want to leave a message or search for a loved one associate. My brother was Tony Ellwood Seay and he enlisted in the Army in 1968. He had been in Viet Nam for 11 monthes, and was due to come home in 2 weeks, when his jeep was hit by mortor and he was killed. His last letter to my mother was that he was not afraid anymore, that he knew God was with him. Sometimes he would look out his foxhole at the pretty blue sky and smile, knowing that God was with him. This letter gave us all a great amount of comfort at the time we learned of his death. My brother Tony was a sweet and gentle man by nature, and he had a soft heart for other people, animals and little children. I still have his cologne that was given to me after mom cleaned out his closet.(It took her 20 years before she could open that door) Sometimes I open his bottle of English leather just to smell it because it seems he is right there with me whenever I smell his cologne. I will never get over his death, for he was only 21 years old and had a little 3 year old son who doesn't remember his dad. I still have days that I get upset and have to sit down and have a good cry, and its been 34 years. I will always think of him and his loving ways and that beautiful smile he had. What a loss of such a wonderful human being, and for a reason I have yet to get an answer to. I will put my faith and trust in God to help me and my family deal with it, and the pain that we endue and will forever. For me and all other families who have lost a loved one in war or peace must accept Gods plan for whatever reason this has happened for.

Great Web site! Thank You. I served as a helicopter repairman until they transfered me as a gunner on a Huey because of the shortage of gunners in our squadron. The 1/9 was the first into Cambodia! My father, Laurance (Larry) Osborn passed away October 18 2002 from agent orange complications. We burried him in Fort McPherson National Cemetary in Maxwell Nebraska complete with leopard beray and spurs. I know he served on the LRRPs teams in the mid sixties but don't know the exact dates. He was immensly proud of the men he served with and I just wanted to let you know about your fallen brother.

What a Section I had while I was Cavalier 15. In my section under Barry Kingman (White) were Gary Matthas, John Jellich, and Mike Tuttle. Couldn't ask for 3 better scout pilots.

July 1970; (I served with "Crash", "Dusch", "Fingers", "MGM", "Wally", "Crazy Bill", "Frank Alameda", "Brother Blood", and others I apologise to for forgetting their names). I also served in C trp Aero Scout (Loach) platoon from July 1970 to October 1970. I also served with "Blue Max" Aerial Rocket Artillery (ARA) at Quan Loi as a Cobra Crewchief from January 1969 to September 1969, and HSC 15th Med at Phuoc Vinh from September 1969 to January 1970 as a Crewchief/Gunner on a Medevac with "Lurch", "Steve", "Zepp", and many others. I will always feel great pride about my service with C Troop 1/9 Cavalry.

Bosco was the nickname for Mike Minnick.............someone I'd like to touch base with ...........anyone know how to get in touch with him?

While reading a letter brother - DAVSKI/David Dzwigalski, wrote to us - his family in Sept. 1991 He writes of a fellow Vet. who was on duty with him while picking up LRRPS. The guys name - he states in his letter is Sp/4 Bosco from New Mexico. His LZ was Buttons -below Nui Ba Ra mountain near Song Be. SP/4 Bosco is not in the Roster - Does anyone know him and how i can get in-touch. I think he would - maybe like to read this 9 page letter he wrote to us (his family) about his time in Nam. The date looks to be - about Aug. 1969 and He states he was a Door Gunner with the HEADHUNTERS-Lift-Family , C Trp. 1st of the 9th Cav.

I was perusing the local newspaper today and was surprized at all the Veterans' Day events. I think I'll attend one or two. There's a parade in the little town next to Harlingen -- might put on my Cav Hat and old flight jacket and see what it's all about. Just affixed a Vietnam ribbon sticker (w/ Loach silhouette) on the new Toyota rear window. My new tag says "9 CAV". Wonder if anyone will notice.
