Mike Bredley, of Bowling Green, gave me this site link.....I was with C troop
out of Con Ho Mountain, in the Ahn Khe Pass during 1968. I got some
movie clips of the Big 1st Cav patch on the side of that mountain. We had
AO in Bong Song, Pleiku, KonTum, and Plei Me down in the Ia Drang, and
a forward staging base at Dak Seang close to the Laosian Border. I have
some good photos of downed choppers and some of my favorite showing
other gunships enroute to LZs.

GREAT JOB ON THE NEW SITE!!! Visit the C Troop OH-6A LOH

Just rec'd this site from Walker Jones, this site is really an outstanding
site....was with C-1/9, for only about a month and a half. Did a year with 11th air
assault, and went over to nam in a c-130 with the advanced party. Was
transferred back to HHT 1/9 after that, and in that short 45 days met some of
the most real people I have ever known....Most didn't make it back alive, and
don't remember alot of names. But these few I do remember James Parrett, KIA
November 1965 Ia Drang Valley.. SFC Pasqual Kia November 1965 Ia Drang, a
guy named Jerry Hunter (Doc) Medic, and Zimmerman. Don't know what
happened to them as I kinda got home and tried to forget...God Bless All You

Hi again, just finished reading all messages. very interesting, covers all years
from start to finish.Notice Chuck Knowlen,s note. Chuck was Blue Plt. Leader
who led the famous Ia Drang ambush Nov 3,65 which made first NVA kills for
the 1st Team. See Vietnam Mag-Oct 99 story. Recently returned from chicago
where my wife and I visited Mrs Lillian Gavaria, mother of SP5 George Gavaria,
KIA 1 Dec 66 Bong Son. Weapons UH-1B crewchief. She took us to George's
grave site and I had a very emotional reunion with my old friend. It took me all
these years to visit George, but it was worth the trip out. Also, anyone remember
a Rucker schoolmate of mine who was a crew chief in weapons C Troop 66-67.
Name SP4 Robert Tommy Warner. He ETS Aug 67 and died in Oct 67 in crop
duster crash off coast of Montery, Calif. If anyone goes near town of Gonzales,
near Salinas, please try find his grave site and let me know where it is located.
Tommy was a great kid who taught me a lot about his beloved California and the
Beach Boys music back in 65. Best wishes for a healthy new year to all. Mike
