This
is the hotel for all 1/9 troopers.
Reserve a room before it is too late.
No group rate, but great prices.
Bring Cav hats…wear Cav hats.
John
Powell and his meeting planner, Linda Tucker, have booked two events. Forty-one troopers and KIA families have
indicated they will attend. With
guests, our number will be 76 people.
And, these are just the ones we know about. Many VHPA members did not respond to our survey, but others will
appear of their own accord. The point
is…we have had to plan based on the numbers made known to us.
C/1/9
Check-in: Stardust Hotel, 3 July
12:00-6:00 PM. Salon 10.
C/1/9 Dinner: Dinner will be at the Stardust Hotel on 3 July from 6:30-10:30 PM. Salons 7-9. Cash bar. Chips, dips, veggie trays and a great dinner with salad, chicken Florentine, spinach, rice, carrots, rolls and desert. $25.00 per person. We have guaranteed only 60 dinners. This event will sell out. See Action Item for reservation information. We will also have an after dinner mystery program by mysterious troopers. This is the big one. Don’t miss this event. Plans include a missing man table.
C/1/9 Breakfast: Breakfast at the Stardust Hotel on 5 July from 8:30-9:30 AM in Salon 11.
Full meal trimmings. $9.50 per person. We have guaranteed only 40 meals.
Again, only your advance reservation can guarantee a seat. See Action Item.
Meeting
Room: TBD.
Negotiations are ongoing for additional meeting space.
Hangar Party: Airport on 5 July from 7:00 PM-9:00 PM. Greg Rochna, A Troop Scout pilot in ’69, of Maverick Helicopters, will be hosting an open house/picnic at his flight facility at McCarren Field. All 1/9 Troopers and guests are invited. Car pool or use cheap cabs. Five ride for the price of one in Las Vegas! Maverick may offer their vans to shuttle back. Not to worry. This will be a great event and an opportunity to schedule one of the helicopter tours of the city or surrounding venues, e.g., Boulder Dam, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Bryce Canyon, etc. Greg promises Trooper-friendly rates for all 1/9th alumni.
Donations: We will solicit donations at Check-in on 3 July. Certain things, e.g., name tags, rosters,
bartenders, etc., cost additional over and above the cost for meals and set
ups. Thanks to those who have already
contributed.
Reservations: We need notice as soon as possible of those to attend the 3
July dinner (@ $25 head) and the 5 July breakfast (@ $9.50) per head. While there is no fee, we need to advise Greg
of how many will attend his hangar party on the evening of 5 July.
Action Item: E-mail bobtredway@aol.com with your reservation seat commitment for each of
the three events listed above. Fax or
telephone if you do not have e-mail.
Please do this even though you might have done this before you knew of
the costs. Pay in Las Vegas. Do not send me money for meals.
